The sufficiency of resources of ‘inactif’ persons is assessed by taking account of the personal situation of the individual concerned.
According to the Service-Public.fr website, the amount required equates to the amount of the minimum income below which entitlement to social security benefits will apply.
For example, at January 1 2008, this was 447,91 EUR/month for a single person without child or, if the person is aged more than 65 years (with some exceptions), the amount of the single person’s state old age pension which, at January 1 2008, was 628,10 EUR/ month. (Note 6)
